The Department of Dental Medicine offers comprehensive dental, oral surgery and oral health services in the state of the art, modern facility located in the ethnically diverse and historic Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights.
The Department of Dental Medicine offers a full spectrum of dental services including: Preventive, Restorative, Fixed/Removable Prosthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Implants Dentistry, Special Care Dentistry and Dental Anesthesia. We treat patients who have medical, physical or intellectual disabilities. Children and adults are cared for by general and pediatric dentist and Board Certified specialists from the more complex procedures.
Ambulatory care in the outpatient setting is the mainstay of the department, however, inpatient care is also provided for the treatment of facial trauma, oral/facial infection; pre-prosthetic and reconstructive procedures. Oral Rehabilitation procedures are performed in the operating room by the Pediatric and General Dental teams.
The Department of Dental Medicine facilitates the education of graduate dentist by offering General Residency and Pediatric Residency Programs credited by American Dental Association, Commission on Dental Accreditation. We also have an affiliation with Columbia University School of Dental Medicine were dental students receive a portion of their clinical education in the department.

Hours of Operation
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Wednesday: 8:00am - 7:00pm
- We provide 24 hour 7 days a week emergency dental services
Emergency/Walk In patients are welcomed and seen on a first come first serve basis during our hours of operation. After hours, patients are seen at the Interfaith Medical Center Emergency Room located on the 1st floor of 1545 Atlantic Ave., by the dental resident on call.
For General Dentistry/Pediatric appointments the Dental Center is open every day.
Patients that need to see one of our specialists should schedule appointment the day when specialist is in the Dental Center.
If, for some reason, you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment time, call us as soon as possible to reschedule. The appointment that you miss denies other patients care they deserve.
DURING NON CLINIC HOURS PATIENTS WILL BE SEEN BY ON CALL DENTAL RESIDENT AT INTERFAITH MEDICAL CENTER IN EMERGENCY ROOM ON THE FLOOR at 1545 Atlantic Ave.
