Chairman, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral HealthDr. Akerele received his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Bio/chemistry from the University of London, England, Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj Napoca, Romania, and Masters in Public Health Policy and Management from Columbia University, New York. He completed his General Psychiatry training at Harlem hospital, Columbia University. He trained as a research fellow in Addiction Psychiatry at Columbia University and later served as Co-director of the Substance Abuse Research Fellowship program there.
Program Director, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral HealthDr. Tolu Olupona is currently the Program Director for the Department of Psychiatry at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to working at Interfaith Medical Center, she was an assistant clinical professor in Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Adolescent Health Center where she provided direct clinical care, teaching and supervision of clinicians.
Director of Inpatient ServicesDr. Leon Patrick Valbrun is currently the Director of Inpatient Psychiatric service at Interfaith Medical Center. He graduated from the Medical school of Haiti. He completed a residency in psychiatry at the Mars and Kline Institute in Haiti. He migrated to the USA and completed a second residency at Harlem Hospital Medical Center in affiliation with Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.
Director of Psychiatric Emergency ServicesDr. Moddy Kiluvia joined our faculty in 2016 as the Chief of Psychiatric Emergency Department. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara – Turkey. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine at Cabrini in New York, and Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Yale University in New Haven, CT.
Director of Outpatient ServicesChristianah Y. Ogunlesi, MD is the Medical Director of the Center for Mental Health and the Director of Outpatient Psychiatry Services at Interfaith Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Ogunlesi obtained her Medical Degree from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria, and completed her general and child and adolescent psychiatric residencies at Harlem Hospital Center, New York, NY. She also served as the Chief Resident during her Fellowship.
Deputy Director of Inpatient ServicesDr. Dabo is a graduate of the University Gamal Abdel Nasser of Conakry. He completed both his internship and residency in General Psychiatry at Harlem Hospital Center, in affiliation with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also completed his Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, the University hospital for the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, where he was appointed as attending psychiatrist until February 2015.
Attending PsychiatristDr. Neelambika Revadigar is a Board Certified General psychiatrist. She currently serves as the Clerkship director for medical students at Interfaith Medical Center and Chief of Consultation Liaison Service. Dr. Revadigar received her medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical School in India, and completed her psychiatry residency training at Harlem Hospital, Columbia University, New York.
Chief PsychologistDoreena Lesanics, PhD is the Chief Psychologist and Unit Chief of both the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and the Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Treatment Program (IPRT) at Interfaith Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate degree in Art History at Loyola University of Chicago.
