Salary and Paid Leaves Benefits
Resident salaries may be adjusted annually on July 1st. Residents are paid on the basis of their level of training in their respective training programs.
The annual vacation allowance for Residents employed for a 12 month period shall be 4 weeks. A Resident whose employment is for a period less than 12 months shall receive prorated vacation allowance.
Any unused vacation shall be paid at the end of the residency year in which the vacation was accrued.
Resident shall be entitled to 12 days of sick leave per year earned at the rate of one day per month. Residents may accumulate a maximum of 48 days of sick leave during any one year, including the days earned or to be earned in the current sick leave year.
Residents are entitled to 4 personal days per year.
Residents are entitled to 3 working days off in the event of the death of a parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, grandparent.
Residents are entitled to 5 paid working days off to travel abroad in the event of a death.
Time off for licensure, specialty, and other examinations relating to the training program shall not be unreasonably denied for up to a maximum of 3 days for no more than 2 examinations per year.
A 2 day parental leave at his/her regular rate of pay shall be granted to each resident to be taken within 4 days of the date of his/her child’s birth.
All senior residents, fellows and chief residents shall be entitled to 5 paid working days off to attend conferences or board review courses.
